The CORE Pivot: A Simple Way to Change What’s Not Working
A simple, brain-based framework to help you pause, calm your nervous system,
and choose a new response—even in the messy middle.
What Is It?
The CORE Pivot is the 4-step process I use in all my coaching with parents, teens, couples, and teams. It gives you a simple way to catch yourself in old patterns, understand what your brain and body are doing, and take one small, empowered step in a new direction.
The CORE Pivot is a quick, repeatable process you can use any time you feel reactive, overwhelmed, or stuck in the same old loop.
Instead of going straight into autopilot—snapping, shutting down, spiraling—you learn how to pause, get curious, calm your nervous system, and respond more like the person you actually want to be.
Where can I use the CORE Pivot Process?
You can use this process anywhere you feel stuck, stressed, or reactive:
-
Parenting moments when you want to yell but really want to stay calm.
-
Conversations with your spouse or partner that usually turn into arguments.
-
Before a game, performance, or big moment when your nerves take over.
-
On those days when your thoughts spiral and you feel like you’re back in the same old story—again.
Over time, these small pivots begin to rewire your brain and nervous system, so calm, connection, and confidence become more natural.
